Coach Locust to Oversee Linebacker’s
Allentown, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks are proud to announce the addition of their first female coach to their staff. Coach Lori “Lo” Locust will join the organization to work with the Hawks Linebacker’s in 2017.
Coach Lo was born in Philadelphia and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Susquehanna Township school district, where she is entering her eighth season of coaching, as the Assistant Varsity Defensive Line Coach. She worked with the Central Penn Capitals of the AIF last season as their Defensive Line Coach. Locust has also been a part of the Central Penn Piranha staff that won a league and Semi-Pro National Championship; working with their offensive and defensive lines. Locust turned to coaching after playing four years of women’s semi-pro and suffering a career ending injury.
She works as a Field Marketing Underwriter for Synergy Comp out of Sharon, PA. She has two sons, Alex (26 years old) who will graduate from San Francisco State grad school program in May, and Bryce (19 years old) who is in his sophomore year at Penn State. In her downtime she enjoys being outdoors hiking or biking.
“We are very excited to add Coach Lo’s knowledge and experiences to our coaching staff. We’ve had the pleasure of coaching against her last season when she was a part of the Central Penn Capitals staff and then with her over the last couple months assisting with our open tryouts. She is very passionate about this great sport and we feel she fits right in with the rest of us as we strive to reach our 6th straight post season appearance and a National Arena League Championship.”
