ATLANTA, GEORGIA – The National Arena League is proud to announce the league’s recipients of the Playoff Semi-Final Players of the Week. The league had two outstanding contests from this past weekend, and from those games the following winners for Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Players of the Week were selected:

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Duron Neal (WR, Columbus Lions)

Twenty Two point deficits are rarely overcome in football. Especially with only 15 minutes left in a game, but that is exactly what the visiting Columbus Lions did in their semi-final playoff match against the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks. It was Neal who was the X-Factor in the contest hauling in a whopping 14 passes, for 150 yards and three scores to mount the comeback and send his Lions team into the NAL Championship game by a score of 52-50.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jabari Gorman (DB, Jacksonville Sharks)

For the Jacksonville Sharks the return of Defensive Back Jabari Gorman from training camp in the Canadian Football League couldn’t have come at a better time. The defensive back had a monster game in slowing the Monterrey Offense by recording 4.5 tackles and securing two huge interceptions. For the #1 seeded Sharks and Gorman, they get to host the Columbus Lions for the first ever National Arena League Championship.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lindsey Wolfe (K, Columbus Lions)

Sometimes it takes a clutch moment in a game to seal a victory. No bigger play occurred then when, after a Lions Touchdown to take a seven-point lead, Kicker Lindsey Wolfe lined up the kickoff and nailed his second deuce of the game to give his team a 9 point lead versus a 7 point lead. Those two points were the difference as the Steelhawks scored with under a minute to go but couldn’t convert a deuce of their own to tie the score. Final 52-50 and a Lions Championship berth.

The first ever National Arena League Championship Game is now set. The Jacksonville Sharks will host the Columbus Lions on Monday, July 10th at 7pm for the title. Festivities for Championship weekend will be announced soon.
