Two-Year Veteran returns to Sharks
JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks announced today Wide Receiver Emughedi “Iffy” Umodu signed with the Jacksonville Sharks for the 2018 season for his second year of arena football and second season with the Sharks.
Umodu (6’3”, 215) spent his rookie season with the Jacksonville Sharks after joining the Sharks roster later in the season on June 7. During the 2017 regular season Umodu caught 10 receptions for 127 and two touchdowns. During the 2017 National Arena League Championship Umodu caught five receptions for 66 yards, his longest went for 22 yards in the 27-21 victory over the Lions. Prior the Sharks, Umodu signed with the Chicago Bears in 2014 where he participated on the Bears practice squad.
Umodu attended Northern Arizona University where he caught 136 receptions for 1,883 yards and 15 touchdowns. His senior year he led NAU in receptions and receiving yards. Iffy is a native of West Covina, California where he played for South Hills High School.
