The talent just keeps stacking up for the Columbus Lions, as the team adds another weapon to its offensive arsenal. The Lions have signed standout fullback Quayvon Hicks for the 2018 season. Hicks played 4 years for the University of Georgia, where he recorded 23 carries for 166 yards and 12 catches for 132 yards. Hicks also helped block for Bulldog running back Todd Gurley. Hicks sat out the 2016 season, recovering from an injury sustained in his last game for UGA in 2015. Earlier this year, Hicks was signed to a futures contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Asked about what signing SEC talent means for the Lions, Head Coach Jason Gibson said “We are excited to add someone with Quayvon’s resume and running ability to our offense. It’s not always about X’s and O’s, sometimes you just need better players than the other team. Hicks will be a dominant force in the league and when you can add a Georgia Bulldog to the roster, it’s great for the fan base.”
