Cobras Sign 2016 All-IFL Defensive DB Michael Green - Elite Defensive Back to anchor Carolina’s secondary in 2018


GREENSBORO – Defensive Back Michael Green  (6’0”, 200) played for the Wichita Falls Nighthawks in 2017, where he played in 13 games and led the team with 75 total tackles, seven tackles for a loss and six interceptions. In 2016, Green helped the Billings Wolves with 10 interceptions, 86 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 10 pass breakups and was named 1st team All-IFL. Green began his pro career with the Billings Wolves in 2015,. Green instantly became one of the most dominant players in the league the IFL as a rookie, ranking 2nd in the league for both interceptions (7) and tackles (114). Green also ended his rookie campaign with two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and was named the IFL’s 2015 Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Prior to his professional career, Green spent his college playing career at Lenoir-Rhyne University. He started in 32 games as a defensive back at Lenoir-Rhyne and earned several conference honors including Defensive Player of the Year in his senior season.

Michael Green grew up in Kingsland, Georgia where he played high school football Camden County High School where he won a state championship his senior year.
