Former Nittany Lion signs with Carolina
Greensboro- Paul Jones (6’5, 230) signs with the Carolina Cobras for his first year of arena football.
Jones finished his college career at Robert Morris University. Jones started college at Penn State. In 2010, Jones played in the team scrimmage. In that game, he completed 5-of-8 passes for 67 yards and two touchdowns. In 2012, Jones was fighting for the starting quarterback spot, but was moved to tight end and caught one pass for seven yards. Midway through the 2012 year, Jones transferred to Robert Morris University, where he finished his Junior and Senior year. During his senior year in 2013, he completed 122-of-261 passes for 1,651 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Jones also rushed 77 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
Jones is a native of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania and played high school football at Sto-Rox High School in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. During his time at Sto-Rox, Jones missed some of his senior year due to an injury, but still managed to complete 112-of-215 passes for 1,667 yards and 16 touchdowns. Over his high school career, Jones threw for 5,667 yards and 60 touchdowns.
