Mammoths ink Defensive Back Brendan Murphy


Former Bismarck Buck joins Mammoths for 2018

PORTLAND- Brendan Murphy (5’11, 180) signs with the Maine Mammoths for his second year of arena football. Murphy played for the Bismark Buck in 2017 of the CIF. Last season Murphy ranked third on the team in tackles (66), second in tackles per game (5.6) and first in pass breakups with six. During Murphy’s 13 games with the Bucks he combined for 45 solo tackles and 21 assists.

Murphy finished his college career at the University of Arizona where walked on after transferring from Air Force. Murphy he played in 13 games for the Wildcats as a cornerback and spent time on special teams. In 2012, he collected six tackles and had one pass breakup. Prior to Arizona and Air Force, Murphy played for Glendale Community College.

Murphy his a native of New Hartford, New York but played high school football at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. During his time at Chaparral, he was a First-Team All-District, All-Region and All-State high school football player. During his senior year he helped his team to a 13-1 record and a state championship. Murphy also was a 2012 National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete.

The Maine Mammoths are members of the National Arena League (NAL).
