Second-Team All-NAL Kicker Signs with Mammoths
PORTLAND- Brandon Rutherford (5’11,185) signs with the Maine Mammoths for his fourth year of arena football. Last year, Rutherford played for the Monterrey Steel. He was 5-of-15 with field goals, 40 yards being his longest. He was also 24-of-32 for extra points and made 12 deuces. In 2016, Rutherford played for the Tampico Lagartos in the NAIF, currently known as the Monterrey Steel. Rutherford started his professional career in 2015 with the Alabama Hammers in the PIFL.
Rutherford attended college at Georgia Military College. In 2013, Rutherford and his team went to the national championship but lost to East Mississippi State. Also in 2013, Rutherford was Juco All-American for the Georgia Military Bulldogs.
Rutherford is a native of Bristol, Tennessee and played high school football at Tennessee High School in Bristol, Tennessee. As Rutherford’s high school time was almost up, he was ranked number four in the nation for kicking.
