Rookie Lineman signs with Maine
PORTLAND- Robert Williams (6’4,265) signs with the Maine Mammoths for his first year of arena football.
Williams attended Texas A&M Kingsville where he played defensive end for the Javelinas. As a senior, Williams totaled 88 tackles, 17 for a loss, 4.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. During his junior year, he played in 11 games, finishing the year with 35 tackles, 5.5 for a loss and three sacks. Williams also was a two-year starter for the Texas A&M Kingsville basketball team where he averaged 13 points a game and led the team with 15 blocks and was second with 51 steals. Prior to Texas A&M Kingsville, Williams attended Frank Phillips College where he played basketball.
Williams is a native of Dallas, Texas where he attended McClennan JC. High School. During his high school career, he played on the track & field team, basketball team, and was an All-District football player.
