2021 NAL Training Camp Begins

Four Teams Launch Training Camp this Weekend

ATLANTA – The National Arena League announced its players will be putting on helmets and shoulder pads to hit the field for the first time since the 2019 season. After a full-year delay the league is exciting to begin the 2021 season Friday, May 28 with 10 exciting weeks of regular season NAL football this summer followed by postseason action this August. Starting today the Albany Empire and Ontario Bandits will begin their training camp for the 2021 season. The Carolina Cobras and Ontario Bandits will begin their training camp this weekend and the remaining teams will begin camp throughout the month prior to the season opener.

“It’s great to see our teams entering training camp but I know it’ll feel even better for all our players and coaches to be on the football field again. I’m proud of the work we’ve done as a league to get to this point with all of the hurdles this past year has caused. We have still managed to grow as a league and I’m looking forward to the season ahead for our fans who are excited to see arena football return.” Stated Commissioner Chris Seigfried.

Of the four teams entering training camp, three of them will be entering their first season in the National Arena League as the Albany Empire joined the NAL after several seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL), the Jersey Flight start their first season in the NAL after playing in the American Arena League (AAL); the Ontario Bandits enter their inaugural season as a franchise with their first game in team history to be played Saturday, May 29th against the Albany Empire at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY.
