All-AFL Receiver Kendrick Ings Inks with Cobras
The Carolina Cobras announce the signing of wide receiver Kendrick Ings who enters his six season of arena football and first as a Carolina Cobra.
Kendrick Ings (5’10, 180) last played for the Atlantic City Blackjacks of the Arena Football League (AFL) in 2019. Ings finished the season with over 58 receptions for 627 yards and nine touchdowns. Ings also served as a kick returner for Atlantic City with 37 kick returns for 602 yards and one touchdown. In 2018, he played for the Baltimore Brigade where he added eight catches for 104 yards and one touchdown to his career. The Brigade finished the year 705 and appeared in Arena Bowl XXXI but fell to the Washington Valor 69-55.
Kendrick Ings played for the Tampa Bay Storm of the AFL in 2017 where he had a career high 98 catches for 1,141 yards and 22 touchdowns. Ings was also a AFL standout on special teams amassing 49 kick returns for 1,063 yards and four touchdowns. Ings earned First Team All-AFL honors at wide receiver and kick return. The Storm star also spent the 2016 season with Tampa where he caught 20 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns. Ings also rushed four times for 15 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns. On special teams, Ings returned 28 kicks for 582 yards and scored one touchdown. His 2016 his arena football season was cut short as he was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he spent NFL training camp, preseason, and was signed to the Buccaneers practice squad for the 2016 NFL regular season. Following his time with the Bucs he was signed by the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL) where he was a member of the Lions practice / reserve squad.
During his rookie season in 2015 with the Tampa Bay Storm, he finished the year as AFL top-5 player in multiple categories finishing 3rd in kick returns (83), 4th in kick return yards (1,293), 3rd in kick return touchdowns (3), and 5th in all-purpose yards with 2,437. Following the AFL season, Ings was signed by the Detroit Lions where he competed in NFL training camp and preseason for the 2015 season. Prior to the AFL, Ings played for the Dodge City Law of the CPIFL where he helped the team to a 8-4 record and an appearance in the CPIFL Semi-Finals.
Kendricks Ings attended college at Fort Valley State University. He played high school football at Miller Grove High School in Lithonia, GA and was born & grew up in Miami, FL.
