Carolina Cobras Add Defensive Back Demetruce McNeil

GREENSBORO - The Carolina Cobras are happy to announce the signing of DB/KR Demetruce McNeal for the 2021 season.

Demetruce McNeal (6’2” 200, Auburn) after spending the last two seasons with the Massachusetts Pirates is traveling south to join the Carolina Cobras.  McNeal comes to the Cobras with National Championship experience after winning in 2010 with Auburn.  McNeal was invited to the training camp for the Green Bay Packers in 2014, and in 2019 played in three games for the Pirates.  In the three games he had 12 receptions for 120 yards, and also four tackles and a pass break up on the defensive side of the ball.

When asked his message for Cobra Nation McNeal said “I’m ready to come in and work and also bring my experience and athleticism to the Cobra family to bring a championship back to Greensboro. You can let everyone know that I’m one of the most dangerous kick returners in the league, along with being a great DB.”

Head Coach Resignalo agreed “Demetruce McNeal is no stranger to the NAL as he has been with the Mass Pirates. Also has experience in the IFL as well. After Auburn he had a look with the Packers. McNeal has great size at DB and is going to make some plays. The Cobras are known for having some good DBs in the secondary and 2021 isn’t going to be any different with McNeal being a part of the 2021 group. We are excited for what we are putting together, and McNeal is going to have a big year!”
