Carolina Cobras Add Rookie Defensive Back Tyriek Able

GREENSBORO –  The Carolina Cobras announce the signing of defensive back Tyriek Able, who starts his first season with the Carolina Cobras.

Tyriek Able (5’9, 190) began his college career at Guilford College and finished his collegiate career at Averett University, a division III school in Dansville, VA.

As a senior, Able played defensive back for Averett University where he totaled 29 tackles, 10 pass breakups, four interceptions, and two tackles for a loss earning First Team USA South All-Conference honors. As a junior transfer, he played in 10 games totaling 37 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and two interceptions where he gained First Team USA South All-Conference honors. In 2015, Able played for Guilford College as a sophomore where he racked up 58 tackles and three pass breakups. During the 2014 season Able played in all 10 games as a true freshman landing 52 tackles and 3 pass breakups helping Guilford to a 8-2 overall record.

Tyriek Able grew up in Greensboro, NC where he played for Ben L. Smith high school starting at both defensive back and wide receiver. During his high school career he earned All-Area & All-Conference honors.
