Carolina Cobras Sign DB Tee Shepard

The Carolina Cobras announce the signing of DB Tee Shepard.

Tee Shepard (6’ 1” 190, Ole Miss) has overcome obstacles his entire career and life. Being hearing impaired has been a challenge yet Shepard will not allow it to be used as a crutch.

Shepard was a five-star high school recruit and was initially signed by Notre Dame, but some issues led him to going to Holmes Community College in 2013 to work on his academics. He then signed to Ole Miss where in his first year he was injured in fall camp and had to have surgery which scrapped the 2014 season for him, but not to be deterred he came back in 2015 and played five games for Ole Miss before stepping away from football. Shepard played for the Arizona Rattlers in 2017 in his rookie year. He almost signed with the Cobras in 2019, but it didn’t work out. He was signed by the Oakland Panthers (IFL) for the 2020 season that was cancelled.

Shepard had this to say about this signing, in a very high energy interview. “I’m excited, it has been a long time coming, I am just so excited! I want to take my talent to the Cobras and bring in everything I have. For one I am going to shut down the island, I want the people to see me knock people over the walls. My goal is to complete the season, stay healthy and do everything I can to help the team win. I can play multiple positions and the coaches know they can put me anywhere they need me.”

Coach Resignalo said “Sheppard has the potential to be a dangerous DB in this game. He has all the tangibles to be big time player in the NAL. Tee was set to play in Oakland of the IFL for 2020 before Covid. So, to get a solid player added to 2021 because of the cancellations is a great situation for him and us. He is going to make the DB room very competitive come camp. We are excited to see what Tee can do and we know he can help us be successful in 2021.”
