Carolina Re-Signs LaVon Pearson

GREENSBORO –  The Carolina Cobras announce the return of wide receiver LaVon Pearson who enters his third year of arena football and second with the Cobras.

LaVon Pearson (6’2, 190) last played with the Cobras in 2019 helping the team to the NAL championship as one of the teams top receivers finishing second only to Jordan Jolly who led the league in most receiving categories. In Pearson's debut season with the Cobras he recorded 59 receptions for 738 yards and 21 touchdowns. Pearson led the Cobras and all receivers in the National Arena League championship game against the Sharks scoring three touchdowns and adding eight catches for 70 yards. Pearson began his arena football career with the Massachusetts Pirates in 2018 leading Mass with 83 catches for 1,011 yards and 22 touchdowns. In 2019, he played in four games for Pirates, landing two touchdowns before he was traded to the Carolina Cobras.

It was a big pick up for us to get Von for the 2019 season. Our first 2 games that season was vs Mass, and he was a big part of our game plan to stop those games. We dominated Mass those 2 games and was a tough task keeping Von in check. When we got word of Mass wanting to trade him it was a no brainer for us. I’d rather have him on my team then preparing to stop him. Von had an immediate impact on our 2019 team and continued his dominance from his 2018 campaign. Signing Von for the 2021 season is a big deal for myself and more importantly the Cobras. He will be one of our main leaders of this team and will be a big part of our fight in getting the NAL trophy back to Greensboro where it belongs!
