GREENSBORO, NC - The Carolina Cobras announce the original Cobra OL Joe Harris returns for the 2022 season.

Joe Harris (6’ 3” 327, Carson-Newman University) is back again, the original Cobra stays home! Not only a fan favorite, but an outstanding offensive lineman, Harris actually showed his versatility when he played some snaps on the defensive line last year for the Cobras, which will be perfect with the new Ironman rules for the 2022 season. Harris is the only player in Carolina Cobra history to have played in every season of the team's existence. He actually made his professional debut with the Cobras in 2018, being a rock on the line that won the 2018 NAL Championship. He returned for the 2019 season, but sadly had a season ending leg injury during the regular season. In 2021 during his third year with the Cobra Harris because a leader on the line, playing alongside his brother Jordan for a majority of the year and making his debut on the DL line when needed as he has that “anywhere the team needs me” attitude.

We asked Harris about coming back to Carolina for another year and he said “Well to be honest, and like I said before, Greensboro is a home for me, not only just for me, but also for my family. Since playing for Coach Billy Back and going to back to back Championship games I feel that this team, this organization and this whole city of Greensboro has shown me more to life than just Arena Football. It also showed me that with will, a little bit of drive, and a little bit of a push, that anything is possible. Playing for the Carolina Cobras is more than a dream come true. With me not being able to play or set a foot on the NFL stage, the NAL and the Carolina Cobras have made this my NFL! With that being said I’m ready to continue and am looking forward to winning and bringing another championship back to the great city of Greensboro!”

When asked his message for Cobra Nation Joe said “For my Carolina Cobra Family and organization, I just want to say winning will be the number one thing this year. Last year didn’t go as planned, not at all, and I agree that it was a lot that we could have changed and that we could have been better. Execution when it comes down to being a team and playing all four quarters of Cobra Football. Making the big plays, that is what we are all about and with that being said, coming into the 2022 season I know that Coach Res aka Coach Jefe will be doing what he does best and that is bringing in the heavy hitters for this league, to shine and for the Cobras to have a dynamite and dynamic season for 2022!”

Coach Resignalo said “Looking forward to getting Joe back for his 4th season with the Cobras. Joe became a team captain for the first time in 2021. He earned that opportunity as he is always a leader and voice on and off the field. 2022 is set for him to have a career season and help bring the NAL ship back to the Triad!”
