CIF Champion Omaha Beef Joins the NAL

National Arena League Expands to Nebraska

ATLANTA GA – The National Arena League is proud to announce that the reigning CIF Champion Omaha Beef officially today have joined the National Arena League after many successful seasons in the Champions Indoor Football and decades of experience in other indoor/arena football leagues. The Beef became the second midwest team to join the National Arena League after yesterday’s announcement that the Sioux City Bandits have joined the National Arena League. The move will continue the historic I-29 Rivalry between the two longest running franchises in indoor/arena football. The Omaha Beef just completed the first undefeated season in CIF history and are entering their 25th consecutive season of play with all of their home games being played at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena, also known to fans as the Slaughterhouse located in Omaha, Nebraska. This decision expands the National Arena League footprint to a growing presence in the Midwest United States with now teams in both Nebraska and Iowa set to play in 2024 along with returning NAL teams in Florida, North Carolina, and Texas.

The Omaha Beef is owned by Ricky Bertz who has overseen multiple championship seasons with the franchise. Alongside Bertz is general manager Nick Tomlinson and head coach Rayshaun Kizer, who won a league championship in his first season as the team’s head coach.

“We are happy to announce the addition of the Omaha Beef to the NAL” Stated Commissioner Chris Siegfried. “We are looking forward to working with Omaha Beef owner Ricky Bertz and his staff.  Their team has experienced success both on and off the field and they will be entering the NAL as the defending CIF champions.”

Ricky Bertz, owner of the Omaha Beef made an official statement “I first want to start off by thanking all of our fans, partners and the city of Omaha for making this possible with the foundation that has continued to be built upon for the past two and a half decades. I would also like to acknowledge all of the office and game day staff, players, coaches, Rump Roasters & Prime Dancers past and present that have all worked tirelessly to continue to provide top notch experiences that will only continue to elevate as we transition to this new partnership as members of National Arena League. I have had the pleasure of working with Commissioner Chris Seigfried over the past several years as well as several other team owners and coaches in the league that we now call home, the NAL. Over those years, because of common goals and interests that were shared between the Omaha Beef and members of the NAL, those working relationships grew into friendships, and today I can now officially say that they are partnerships, as we are all playing under the same league banner. Beef fans, I can promise you that this is just the start for the orange and black as we look forward to making our impact both on and off the field in this league that is now our home” Stated Beef owner Ricky Bertz.

Stay tuned to the National Arena League online and on social media as we have more major news to report this week for the 2023 NAL Championship and the upcoming 2024 season.
