Cobras Announce New Defensive Back Coach

Known to be the QB and the General of the defense for the Carolina Cobras in the 2018 and 2019 seasons, Michael Green makes his return to the Cobras for the 2022 Season as the Defensive Assistant for the DBs.  Green, who has always been a natural born leader, has a nose for the ball, and the immediate ability to diagnose plays from the backfield, Mike will be turning in his helmet, for a whistle for the 2022 Season.  With 19 interceptions in two seasons with the Cobras to go along with the 24 interceptions in his IFL years, he is a ball hawk.  Green knows how to break down plays, and will be on the sidelines and practice field teaching his tricks to our 2022 Cobras DBs.  Another thing that Green is known for is his hard hitting and sure tackling, in two seasons with the Cobras he had 133 tackles, and the interception and tackle totals are both All-Time Carolina Cobra career records.  He was also named First-Team All-NAL DB in both 2018 and 2019.

Head Coach/GM Josh Resignalo said this about Green “I am excited to get the General back in Greensboro! Unfortunately not as a player, but more importantly as a coach. Coach Green has a wealth of knowledge to pass on, especially to the younger guys. If guys can learn half of what Coach Green shares, the DB’s will be some of the best at their position.”

As for now Coach Green said, “It’s always a wonderful feeling to return back home. Sadly I will not be returning as a player but as a coach. I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the cobra nation family again. I can’t wait to get the season started. Go Cobras!

My expectations as a coach will be simple. Respect the game, play for somebody other than yourself, and hold yourself accountable. Practice the way you want to perform in the game! Championship mindset at all times.

We focus on being 1% better everyday CobraNation on our mission to bring back the NAL Trophy to Greensboro where it belongs.”
