Cobras Name Promote Brandon Negron to Head Coach

GREENSBORO, NC –  The Carolina Cobras officially announce today that Offensive Assistant Brandon Negron has been named the team’s head coach for the upcoming 2024 season. Negron becomes the Cobras fourth head coach in team history after the successful tenure of Head Coach James Fuller who finished his last season with the Cobras 12-5 with both a playoff victory and NAL Championship berth. The Cobras swept the NAL Coaches Awards in 2023 with Coach Fuller taking home the 2023 NAL Head Coach of the Year and Coach Negron was named the 2023 Assistant Coach of the Year.

The team’s successful 2023 season will continue to build momentum towards a much anticipated 2024 season filled with new cities, teams, players, and coaches. The Carolina Cobras are one of the few teams in league history that has seen each of their head coaches in a championship games. As one of the best teams in the National Arena League and championship expectations in mind, Coach Negron proudly accepted the position today with the Cobras front office.

Coach Negron has been with the Cobras through multiple seasons on the team’s coaching staff and was a part of two championship seasons with the Carolina Cobras (2022, 2023). Last season, Coach Negron served as an offensive assistant to the NAL’s highest scoring offense in 2023 with over 814 points in the regular season. Negron also served a resource for player recruitment and oversaw the Carolina Cobras Youth Football Programs which has grown in the triad community under his leadership.

My goal is to ensure that this franchise represents the city and the community that supports it so proudly. This is home for me. My heart is in Carolina. When this story is finished, success will be measured by my staff and team presenting an NAL Championship to the city of Greensboro and its surrounding area.
