GREENSBORO, NC - The Carolina Cobras announce the return of DE Larry Ford for the 2022 Season.
Larry Ford (6’4” 260 West Virginia) who was a mid-season signing in 2021 and made his presence felt right away, Ford returns for 2022. In just four games with the Cobras in 2021, Ford registered 5 sacks and numerous QB pressures. Ford also had a couple pass breakups, a couple forced fumbles and a blocked kick. A veteran of the arena game since coming out of West Virginia he has spent time with the Florida Tarpons, San Antonio Talons, Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, Orlando Predators, Pittsburgh Power, Cleveland Gladiators, High Country Grizzlies, Atlanta Havoc (High Country and Atlanta with Coach Resignalo) and was with the West Virginia Roughriders before joining the Cobras in 2021. Ford was First Team All-PIFL in 2015 with the Steelhawks, and Second Team All-NAL with the Grizzlies in 2017.
We asked Ford why he chose to return to Carolina, and he said, “That's simple, Coach Res and I have a great relationship and will go to battle for him wherever he is. This will be my 4th season playing for Coach Res and we will win our 2nd championship together in 2022!”
Ford’s message for Cobra Nation, “Number 8 is back! Can’t wait to see y’all back in the snake pit!”
Coach Resignalo had this to say “Larry is a dominating pass rusher and having a full season in 2022 he will lead the NAL in sacks no question about it. Larry is an even greater leader in the locker room and players look up to Larry. I'm excited to have back one of our captains from the 2021 season.”
