Expansion Alert: Tampa Bay Tornadoes Joins The NAL
TAMPA - The National Arena League is proud to announce their new partnership and expansion into Tampa Bay, Florida. The Tampa Bay Tornadoes, under the ownership of Alton Walker, John Amato and Ken Nelson are joining the NAL and fielding a team starting in the 2021 season. The Tornadoes will play in Expo Hall at the Florida State Fairgrounds with just over 10,000 seating capacity.
“We are very excited and blessed to be a part of the NAL,” said Owner Alton Walker. “This has been a long time coming for us since 2018 and now we're able to compete at the highest level of Arena Football while continuing the tradition that Tampa Bay has held for 25 years.”
Walter added, “What we're most looking forward to is bringing back the War on l-4, and I'm announcing the brawl for it all; Tampa, Jacksonville and Orlando... who will be the champs of Florida? Well, it will be a show the whole season.”
The NAL is thrilled to welcome the Tornadoes and rekindle a huge rivalry.
“This is a big announcement for the National Arena League.” stated Commissioner Chris Siegfried “Alton and his team have worked very hard to make this happen, and the best part is the NAL gets to reignite one of the biggest rivalries in any sport, Tampa Bay vs Orlando, aka the War on I-4.”
Jason Gibson, Expansion Committee Chairman added, “We are excited to add Alton, John, Ken and the entire Tornadoes organization to the National Arena League. For us, it is about finding the best partners to help grow the sport, and the Tornados have that. We are excited about the 2021 season and thrilled the Tornadoes will be joining us.”
