Flight Sign DB Eddie Davis III

TRENTON - Former Lehigh Valley Steelhawks defensive back Eddie Davis III has signed with the Jersey Flight. Davis is a native of Camden, New Jersey, and played defensive back and running back at Camden High School. Davis was named an All-State Safety at Camden High.

“Adding Davis to our DB crew will give us another veteran that is familiar with making big plays in the NAL,” Flight head coach Terrence Foster said. “He is also physical and that should mesh well with our style of play. 2021 pre season will be a very competitive camp,” Foster said.

Davis has played two seasons of arena football and has intercepted 10 passes, three of which he returned for touchdowns. He intercepted seven passes in only four games with the Steelhawks in 2017. Davis was awarded NAL Defensive Player of the Week following a three interception performance in Week 2.

In 2018 Davis signed the Jersey Flight during the inaugural season in the AAL. Davis recorded two interceptions against the Richmond, now West Virginia, Roughriders. Davis signed with the Jacksonville Sharks prior to the 2018 season but decided to stay closer to home with the Flight.

Davis started his college football career at Wagner College in 2012. Davis contributed on Wagner’s defense for two seasons, making 24 tackles before transferring to Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, for his final two years of eligibility. Davis was a star at Rowan and recorded five interceptions, 50 tackles, and two blocked kicks. He was selected to the New Jersey Athletic First Team All-Conference team and was also named to the Eastern College Athletics South All-Star second team. During his senior year Davis led the team in interceptions.
