TRENTON, NJ - Zack Mesday will return to Mercer County in 2021. The rookie from Bordentown, NJ has signed his first professional contract with the Jersey Flight. Mesday attended Nottingham High School and was a member of the 2012 state-title team. He walked on at Temple University where he earned a scholarship and starting role with the Owls.
Mesday recorded 8 sacks during his college career at Temple, highlighted by his 4.5 sacks recorded during his senior season in 2019. Mesday spent most of his college career at DE but could see time at Mac Linebacker and Fullback with the Flight. Mesday played a FB/TE hybrid role at Nottingham and during his prep school days.
Mesday is the second Mercer County native to sign with the Flight for the 2021 season. Trenton’s own Keith Newell will be an anchor to the offensive line after spending five seasons with the Philadelphia Soul. The Flight are owned by Trenton entrepreneur Jay Sababu.
