Game Preview Week Four at Orlando

Carolina Cobras (3-0) vs Orlando Predators (1-2)

Amway Center, Orlando FL

Sunday 3:00PM EDT

PREGAME NOTES

Three 1-0 weeks complete:  The Cobras went to 3-0 on the season, beating the Jacksonville Sharks at the Snake Pit 53-48.

First Rematch for 2022:  These two teams met in week two of the season as Orlando had travelled to the Snake Pit and the Cobras won 48-26.  Now it is time for the Cobras to make their first trip to Florida this year.  This is also going to be the first of two games in six days for the Cobras.

Defense causing havoc:  The Cobras defense continues to cause trouble, and turnovers.  With three more interceptions last week against the Sharks.  This time it was Cris Page with two, and Tre Long with his third of the season.  The have the top scoring defense in the league, giving up just 41.7 points per game through three games.  There are stars all over this lineup for the Cobras, and when they finally get all the little things worked out, this defense is going to be even better.  Will that be this week against Orlando?  Only time will tell.  As far as the Orlando defense, they are ranked fourth in scoring defense, giving up 54 points per game through three games,

Who are you going to guard? :  Through three weeks the Cobras have had four players rushing for a TD, with Jonathan Bane leading with 4, and the team running for eight total.  Five different receivers have caught TDs for the Cobras, with Kenrick Ings leading the team with four of the 10 receiving TDs.  DJ Myers leads the team with both 18 receptions as well as 293 yards.  Zack Brown leads the team in rushing with 64 yards through three games.

Next Opportunity:  It is time to see if the Cobras can go 1-0 for the fourth time in a row.  If they can do that, it will be the first 4-0 start in Carolina Cobra history, but they are going to be facing an Orlando team that are looking to get back to the win column for the first time since the opening week.  QB Rakeem Cato, coming off a 19-32-0 for 259 yards and 9 touchdowns performance is going to try to repeat that against the Cobras.  Five receivers had three catches for the Predators, with Larry Beavers with three TDs and two for Lonnie Outlaw.

Coach Says:  Head Coach Josh Resignalo had this to say about the road trip “We are concentrating on week to week to go 1-0.  We have 13 more weeks to go.  Can’t get to the end, without getting by Sunday first.  Orlando is a tough team and have some good players.  Outlaw and Beavers are great players and coming off a great game.  Cato probably had his best game so far.  Anytime you have an undefeated team coming to town, you want to protect your house and handle business.  Every week teams will be looking to be the first one to knock us off.  So, we will continue to be focused and take care of what we can internally to not allow our guys to get complacent.  Our guys are hungry for success and know we have accomplished nothing yet and must keep grinding.  So, Sunday is going to be a dog fight and we have the players that are ready for that challenge”

History:  Cobras lead series 4-2

Last Game:  Cobras beat Orlando in Orlando 48-26 on Apr 30,2022 to move to 2-0 on the season
