Jacksonville Adds Two More To Training Camp Roster

Rookie WR Jalen Rima & DB Orlando McKinley Jr. Sign with Sharks

JACKSONVILLE – The defending National Arena League champion Jacksonville Sharks announced today that they have signed rookie wide receiver Jalen Rima and defensive back Orlando McKinley to the Sharks training camp roster. Both players will compete in camp this week with the final training camp practice scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. before the Sharks enter the regular season next week with their finalized 2021 team roster. Final cuts are expected to be made as early as Sunday morning and Saturday's final day of training camp at Andrew Jackson High School’s baseball field will be open to the public but there will be limited seating available and no parking available at the baseball field the nearest parking lot will be directly across the street in the Harveys SuperMarket parking lot. 


Jalen Rima (6’2, 190) enters camp after playing for the University of North Iowa for four years. In those four years he played in 36 games catching 32 passes for 468 yards and three touchdowns for the Panthers. He finished his college career at the University of Albany. Jalen signed with the Vermont Brew Arena football in 2020 in Burlington, Vermont, the Brew’s inaugural season was cancelled due to the pandemic. 


In high school, Jalen played at Prairie High in his hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. During his high school career he was named first team All-District and All-Metro along with third team All-State and team captain. He currently holds the record for most touchdowns in a season (16). He ended his senior season with 22 receptions for 567 yards and 541 rushing yards. 


Orlando McKinley Jr. (5’10, 170) enters training camp after playing for Florida A&M University (FAMU). During his career with the Rattlers he started all four years at FAMU, combining for 63 tackles, nine pass breakups, and five interceptions. He also served as a kick returner for FAMU where he totaled 21 kick returns for 510 yards. McKinely, helped the Rattlers in 2018 to 5-2 conference record finishing second overall in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. 


In high school, Orlando played at Westlake High school in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.
