Jacksonville Adds Two More to Training Camp Roster

JACKSONVILLE – The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the signing of Quarterback Connor Kaegi who joins the Sharks for his first season of arena football and fullback on Javan Christian who signs with the Sharks for his second season.

Connor Kaegi (6’7, 230) joins the Sharks after two seasons in The Spring League (TSL) most recently playing for the Conquerors of the TSL where he was the backup to Kevin Anderson the former Fordham University quarterback.

Kaegi was recruited to The Spring League after a successful JUCO career as the quarterback at Ottawa University where he played football and basketball. As the starting quarterback for Ottawa he played in 18 games between the 2018-2019 seasons with a career total of 410 completions for 4,595 yards and 51 touchdowns. Kaegi earned Second Team All-KCAC honors in 2018 while also rushing for 295 yards and scored eight rushing touchdowns in the season. He also won NAIA Offensive Player of the Week award after throwing for 318 passing yards and five touchdowns against Southwestern College. Before finishing his college football career he was named MVP of the West Squad for the NAIA Senior Football Classic in 2019.


Prior to Ottawa, Kaegi played college basketball at Arizona Western College in 2017 before spending 2016 playing football at Division I University of Montana. Prior to his stint with Montana he was a dual sport athlete at Feather River College, a JUCO college in Quincy, California where he started at quarterback for FRC and was a walk-on basketball player for the Golden Eagles. Kaegi spent his high school career as a star football and basketball player at Ashland High School in Ashland, Oregon he was All-Conference in both sports his senior year, prior to Ashland he played locally at Bolles School in Jacksonville, FL where he started his high school football career.

Javan Christian (6’1, 290) from Orange Park spent his rookie year as an offensive lineman with the Cedar Rapids River Kings of the Indoor Football League.

Prior to his pro career, Christian played for Webber International University. During Christian’s career at Webber he played on the offensive line starting in 12 games for the Warriors. Christian is originally from Fairbanks, Alaska but grew up in Jacksonville, FL where he played high school football at Oakleaf in Orange Park from 2011-2013.
