NAL Injury Report: Week 5

Back to Back Nights of NAL Action this Week

ATLANTA – The National Arena League announces back to back nights of NAL action for week 5 as the San Antonio Gunslingers (0-2) return from their bye week to face the undefeated Carolina Cobras (4-0) on Friday night in Greensboro, NC. Meanwhile the Sharks (1-3) fly to upstate New York to face the Albany Empire (2-1). This week, the Orlando Predators (1-3) and Columbus Lions (2-1) enjoy bye weeks after both teams saw action and suffered losses last week.

See below as all four teams entering action this week have reported injuries for week 5.

San Antonio Gunslingers (0-2)

San Antonio recovered from their two opening season loses with back to back bye weeks. The time gave the team to strengthen up and recover from injuries as they hit the road to take on a tough opponent the undefeated Carolina Cobras. Coach Shaw reported that the healthy team only has two injuries left to report this week.

WR/DB - Eric MacIntosh, Achilles (Out)

WR/DB - Marcus Green, Knee (Out)

Carolina Cobras (4-0)

The Cobras enter week 5 on the top of the NAL standings as the only undefeated team left after Jacksonville knocked off Columbus in Florida to bring the Lions to 2-1. Coach Res plans to stay the course and keep the win streak alive but will have to do it with or without a couple key players after a close battle in the Jungle as the Cobras hung on to win 36-34 against the Predators.

WR - DJ Myers, Knee (Probable)

WR - Jalen Rima, Hamstring (Questionable)

Jacksonville Sharks (1-3)

The Sharks snatched their first win from the Columbus Lions and now have their eye set on the Empire who they were two-points away from defeating earlier this season in overtime. This hungry Jacksonville Sharks team looks to improve their record again but will have to do it on the road and without several players. Coach Burley reported several injuries before traveling to Albany.

DB - Clifton Duck, Hamstring (Questionable)

WR - Damien McGhee, Groin (Out)

DL - Mykeal White, Shoulder (Out)

WR/DB - Cody Savage, Hamstring (Out)

WR/DB - Kamrin Solomon, Hand (Out)

WR/DB - Desmond Fairell, Wrist (Out)

Albany Empire (2-1)

The Albany Empire return from a bye after claiming their second straight victory of the season with a win against both Florida teams, the Orlando Predators and Jacksonville Sharks. Now Albany finds themselves in a rematch with the Sharks as they had a close overtime match earlier this season that was decided by an extra point in the 61-60 match. Coach Menas of the defending Champion Empire reported one injury and a returning star to their lineup.

WR - Jared Dangerfield, (Out)

DB - Kenneth McGruder, (Activated from Short-Term IR)
