NAL INJURY REPORT: WEEK 8

The NAL Playoff Race Hits Full Speed this Weekend

ATLANTA – The National Arena League releases its injury report for week 8, with all  NAL teams playing this weekend with playoff implications on the line. 

The Columbus Lions (4-1) will travel to Jacksonville, FL to face off against the Jacksonville Sharks (2-3). The last meeting between these two teams was in week 4 where the Lions beat the Sharks in Columbus, GA. The Sharks are coming off a 2-point win against the Carolina Cobras, while the Lions are coming off two bye weeks that followed their 24-point win against the Carolina Cobras in week 5. 

The Jersey Flight (2-4) will travel to Albany, NY to play the Albany Empire (4-1) after their 20-point loss to the Predators 12-32 last week. The Empire received their first loss of the season against the Sharks in week 5 58-61 in Jacksonville. 

The Orlando Predators (3-3) will be traveling to Greensboro, NC to face off against the Carolina Cobras (1-4). This will be the first time these two teams have played this season. In order for any team to make the playoffs they must rank as a top 4 team in the NAL at the conclusion of the regulars season which is week 10 this year. The top two seeds will advance with home field advantage while the 3rd and 4th place teams will advance as the visiting teams during the playoffs. The 5th & 6th place team this season will be eliminated from postseason play. All six teams have the opportunity to make or miss the playoffs within this final weeks of NAL play. 

Orlando Predators (3-3) 

The Orlando Predators have one player listed on their injury report for week 8. Orlando is currently ranked third in the NAL. 

DB- Josh Jenkins, Groin (Probable)

The Jersey Flight (2-4)

Jersey Flight reported no injured players for week 8. The Flight are currently ranked fifth in the NAL but only one-game behind Jacksonville.

Jacksonville Sharks (2-3) 

The Jacksonville Sharks have four players listed on their injury report for week 8. The Sharks currently hold the fourth seed in the NAL going into week 8.

DB- Keiron Jones, Knee - (Questionable) 

FB- Altevis Squirewell, Foot - (Questionable)

WR- Gregory Phillips, (Out)

Carolina Cobras (1-4)

The Carolina Cobras have several players out and several listed as either questionable, probable, or doubtful for this week. The Cobras are ranked sixth in the league but are only one game behind the Jersey Flight and came one play away from beating #4 Jacksonville last weekend in Greensboro.

Albany Empire (4-1)

The Albany Empire have one player listed on their injury report for week 8. The Empire have remained on top of the NAL standings with the Columbus Lions since the beginning of the season. Both the Empire and Lions currently hold the top two seeds in the playoff race.

The Columbus Lions have reported no injured players for week 8.
