Gunslingers Receive New Owners Midway Through Season

ATLANTA – The National Arena has announced a major business move as the ownership of the San Antonio Gunslingers has changed amidst the 2022 season. The ownership decision took place in May and has taken immediate effect within the last few weeks as San Antonio and the NAL enter week 7 of the 2022 National Arena League season. The new owners of the San Antonio Gunslingers are Don Rackler and Brandon Rackler, the Texas based Rackler family begin a new era for Gunslinger football both in the San Antonio business community and sports entertainment realm.  

Brandon Rackler will also serve as the team’s COO while father Don Rackler will serve as the team’s CEO. The move comes as Hector Garcia departed from Ownership of the team after successfully founding the Gunslingers in San Antonio and was instrumental in launching the teams inaugural season in 2021 as well as elevating the franchise to the National Arena League level. 

Rackler brings on Preston Dixon (CFO) and James Steubing (CMO). The Rackler family is committed to seeing the team succeed as the Gunslingers general manager Carlos Felix will remain the team’s GM as will head coach Fred Shaw together Shaw and Felix oversaw the teams first two home games in the National Arena League and will play their sixth game of the season and third home game this season next Saturday, June 11 against the Albany Empire in the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, TX with kickoff set for 2pm (CDT) 3pm (EST).
