NAL Announces Sioux City Bandits as Expansion Franchise

Sioux City Bandits Join the National Arena League in 2024

ATLANTA GA – On the eve of the National Arena League Championship game this weekend between the Jacksonville Sharks & Carolina Cobras, the National Arena League begins the week by announcing the first new franchise for the 2024 season, the Sioux City Bandits. While 2024 will be their first season in NAL, the Bandits enter their 25th consecutive season of play with all of their home games being played at the Tyson Events Center.

"We are proud to announce the addition of one of the longest running teams in all of indoor football, the Sioux City Bandits.” Said National Arena League Commissioner Chris Siegfried “To add an organization with 25+ years of successful operation is very exciting.  Bandits Owner Bob Belson and Head Coach Erv Strohman bring a wealth of experience to the NAL both on and off the field.  We look forward to working together and learning from them as we expand our geographic footprint.”

The owner of the Sioux City Bandits, Don Belson, made an official statement “On behalf of all Bandit fans, and the entire state of Iowa, we are honored to bring top tier arena league experiences to our loyal and energetic fans. The opportunity to bring the NAL to Sioux City will give our fans great talent to watch with their families. The NAL was the best decision for not only our organization, but for the fans, partners and community of Sioux City. I have said from the very beginning, we are a community focused organization, and everything that the NAL embodies on and off of the field aligns with their goals and mission statement. Our entire organization has spent over a year evaluating what was in our best interest long term, and I am happy to say that we have found that with NAL. I’m excited about not only today's announcement, but future announcements about the league and changes that we will see in our community.” Stated Bandits Owner Don Belson.

The Sioux City Bandits will be broadcasting a live stream of their team press conference today at 4pm (EDT, 3pm CDT) to watch it live or later follow the Sioux City Bandits on facebook and watch the live press conference here: .
