Sharks Gain Standout Wide Receiver Darius Reynolds

JACKSONVILLE – The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the signing of Wide Receiver Darius Reynolds for his ninth year in arena football.

Reynolds (6’2, 215) joins the Sharks following a four year stint with the Philadelphia Soul. Darius began playing for the Soul in 2016 and remained with the team through last season. During that time he totalled 255 receptions for 3,523 yards, 91 touchdowns, 44 tackles, and 9 kick returns. As a member of the Soul, Reynolds led the team to back-to-back championship wins in ArenaBowl XXIX and ArenaBowl XXX while also earning First Team All-Arena honors in 2017. In 2015, he played for the San Jose SaberCats of the NAL generating 49 receptions, 17 rushes, 11.5 tackles and helped the team win ArenaBowl XXVIII. Reynolds started his arena career in 2012 with the Iowa Barnstormers where he played through the 2014 season. As a Barnstormer he totaled 176 receptions for 2,567 yards, 14 tackles, and 14 kick returns and earned Second Team All-Arena honors in 2014.  Before entering Arena football, Reynolds was briefly signed with the Green Bay Packers in 2012.  

During his college career Reynolds began at Reedley College where he played Quarterback, throwing for 1,752 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushing for 749 yards and 11 touchdowns. After his freshman year Reynolds  transferred to Iowa State University where he played as a wide receiver. As an Iowa State Cyclone, Reyonds had a career total of 81 receptions for 1,050 yards, nine touchdowns, and two tackles. 

Reynolds is a native of Woodbridge, VA where he played football at C.D Hylton Highschool and named First-Team All-District after leading the team to the state semifinals his junior year.
