Sharks Shred Predators 56-24

Jacksonville, FL – For the second week in a row, the Sharks (8-2) took on the Orlando Predators (4-6). Their third and final regular season matchup took place at the Tank after traveling to Orlando last weekend. Going into Saturday night, the teams had one win a piece against each other, both on the road.

While the Predators started the game with the ball, the Sharks were the first to put points on the board. Jabari Gorman picked off Orlando inside the 10-yard line and ran the ball back for a Sharks touchdown. Marvin Ross also had a pick-six in the quarter, his fourth interception of the season and first at the Tank.

Kamrin Solomon scored the only offensive touchdown for the Sharks in the quarter, a four-yard rush. His league lead is up to 28.

The Sharks led 21-7 after one.

Both teams struggled to find the end zone to start the second quarter. Sam Castronova scored the first touchdown with exactly two minutes left in the half. The Predators answered back with a touchdown, but a huge blocked kick by Anthony Johnson kept the Shark lead at 14.

Johnson added to his stat line on the ensuing Sharks drive, scoring his second touchdown of the season on a 20-yard pass from Castronova.

The half ended with a safety for Jacksonville, giving them a 36-14 lead after 30 minutes.

It took only a short time for Faleaoga Russell to make an impact in his first game back with the Sharks. He opened the scoring in the second half with a touchdown, his first of the season. Harrison Poole scored in response to an Orlando touchdown and deuce with a 40-yard reception from Castronova.

Going into the fourth quarter, Jacksonville led Orlando 49-23.

The final 15 minutes started with another Gorman interception, this one in Orlando’s end zone. Johnson scored his second of the game, a rushing touchdown. He finished with one reception and one rush, both resulting in touchdowns.

The Sharks took back-to-back games against the Orlando Predators, taking down their in-state rival 56-24.

Castronova ended the night with 212 passing yards and three touchdown passes. He also had one rushing touchdown and five rushing yards.

Just like last week at the Amway Center, the defense thrived. To add to his touchdown, Russell had two sacks for the Sharks. Brian Smith, Jimmie Goodloe, David Gilbert, and Justin Renfrow also had sacks.

There were three interceptions—two from Gorman and one from Ross.

Devin Wilson recorded 68 receiving yards and had six tackles.
