Sharks Sign Receiver Gregory Phillips


JACKSONVILLE – The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the signing of wide receiver Gregory Phillips. This will be his rookie season in arena football.

Phillips (5’11, 210) most recently played as a wide receiver in the debut of the The Spring League (TSL) in 2019 and was an undrafted NFL prospect following his college career.

Phillips attended Purdue University where he played receiver from 2014-2017. During his career as a Boilermaker he played in 49 games snagging 84 catches for 889 yards and scored four touchdowns. He was an Academic All-Big Ten his last two seasons with Purdue.

A native of Lithonia, GA Phillips played for Arabia Mountain High School. During his senior year he caught 41 passes for 748 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. Prior to committing to Purdue he earned 5A All-State Honorable Mention and was a three-star prospect by ESPN.
