THE ALBANY EMPIRE DEFEATS COLUMBUS IN 2021 NAL CHAMPIONSHIP REMATCH

ALBANY, NY - The Albany Empire came away with a win Saturday night, defeating the Columbus Lions 39-31. In what many called a 2021 NAL Championship rematch, the Empire found themselves on top once again. 


WR/DB Marquel Wade shined on offense this past Saturday, with 6 receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown. Captain Darius Prince was held to just one reception, which resulted in a 21 yard touchdown. Even defensive lineman Calvin Fance got in on the action, with one reception for 14 yards. 


Captain Nick Haag stood out on defense yet again, with 2 sacks. DB Dwayne Hollis led the Empire in tackles with 5, as well as 1 fumble recovery. 


The Empire returns home this week in an attempt to avenge their only loss this season, which came against the Carolina Cobras week 1 at the MVP Arena.
