THE EMPIRE SOARS OVER JACKSONVILLE AFTER DOMINANT HOME WIN

ALBANY, NY - The Albany Empire cruised past the Jacksonville Sharks after an unexpected travel issue delayed the game to Sunday. The Empire put up an impressive 62 points to Jacksonville’s 29. Despite the last minute change, the Empire put on quite a show for ‘Sunday Night Football’.

QB Sam Castranova had quite a successful night, completing 19 of 33 passes for 208 yards and 6 touchdowns, as well as leading the team in rushing with 31 yards on the ground. 5 of Castranova’s 6 touchdown passes went to WR/DB Darius Prince, who is continuing his electric play in his second year with the Empire. The Empire’s defensive success helped keep Jacksonville in check, with 3 interceptions; 2 by captain Kenneth McGruder and 1 by Trevon Shorts. Kicker Marc Orozco added 4 deuce’s to help bring home a victory to the Empire.

The Empire travels to Columbus for May 28th’s matchup, with the next home game being June 4th against the Carolina Cobras - the Empire’s only loss this season. Tickets are available now at ticketmaster.com or can be purchased by calling (518)714-2200 ext 101.
