Training Camp Report: Day 5

Training Camp Report, Day Five, Only Four Practices Left

GREENSBORO, NC -  Another beautiful night for football, and the Cobras were back on the practice field in pads tonight.  There was a lot more practicing on both sides of the ball tonight as the Carolina Cobras work to get ready to cut down the roster over the next few days and players are going to be getting more time on both sides.

A lot more chatter tonight between the players as you can tell a lot are starting to find their stride with their potential future roles with the team. Four-on-four tonight was a back-and-forth battle tonight, which is what you like to see as iron sharpens iron. There was no give in the defense, but the offense wasn’t shy about taking things they wanted, Jonathan Bane started off the Four-on Four and he went 3 for 5, with beautiful connections with DJ Myers and Kendrick Ings. Jarod Evans was up next, and he completed all five of his pass attempts, including two to James Summers, one over the middle and the second one deep. Dennis Harvilla was up third and he went three of five with some short completions to Adam Smith, Terrence McIntyre and Kendrick Ings.

From there it was back to eight-on-eight for the remainder of the practice as they worked on more install, as well as working players on both sides of the ball. This was a battle as both sides of the ball were playing really hard. Would likely call this a draw if we were scoring at home, which just makes you feel really good about what is to come, when they get to go against other teams. The defense was knocking down passes, and Jerimiah Stovall had an INT which he returned for the TD.

Head Coach Resignalo was in great spirits when I asked him his impressions on what he has thought so far, when he said “We have had some really good battles so far this camp, I am very happy with what I have seen so far and know we can only get better. I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of the camp brings and keep making strides with each and every practice. This team is really starting to come together, and I can’t wait to see what is next!”
